Summer of fun at Birchwood Park

23 August 2019

At Birchwood Park, we like to set ourselves apart from the crowd and make sure that we’re offering our Park occupiers something a little more than the ordinary business park facilities and amenities.

We want to create a real sense of community and focus on workplace and employee wellbeing. A key part of this is our events calendar, where we like to inject a bit of fun into the working week – everyone deserves a work/life balance! Take a look at our summer 2019 highlights for a taste of what our Park occupiers can enjoy:

It’s a Knockout
We started off the season with our sold out It’s a Knockout course, returning for a second year. A little healthy competition between our occupiers saw 20 teams enter to complete our inflatable obstacle course in the quickest time, and we raised more than £2,000 for our chosen Park charities, RSPCA Warrington, Halton and St Helens, and Hand on Heart.

Bike to Work Week
We’re committed to encouraging our occupiers to make healthier, more environmentally friendly decisions every day, so that’s why this summer we made the most of our fantastic cycling hub facilities and hosted a Cycle to Work Week at the park – offering everything from free bike servicing to a free breakfast for those who cycled.

Wellbeing Week
To celebrate Wellbeing Week 2019, we hosted a range of activities on-site at the park, encouraging our occupiers to be social, be mindful, be healthy, and be active. From free fresh fruit Fridays to dedicated fitness classes, phone-free lunch breaks and a visit from the RSPCA therapy dogs, there was something for everyone to get involved with.

Summer Fun Run
The sun shone down on our annual summer fun run, which saw staff and occupiers of all abilities get out and about in the beautiful surroundings of Birchwood Park to take part in our race for charity – some looking to beat their own PBs and others using it as a great excuse for a lunchtime walk. We also encourage our occupiers to don their best fancy dress, with a prize awarded for the best effort!

DuckFest 2019
It’s not just about our occupiers here on the Park, but also their families and our local community, and that’s why each summer we welcome family and friends of the park to our annual DuckFest – a celebration of our resident ducks, complete with a duck race across our lake and ‘Best Dressed Duck’ competition. All proceeds from entry into the competition go to our chosen Park charities, and this year we raised a fantastic £2,500.

To top off our jam-packed events calendar, we offer a wealth of ‘always-on’ initiatives for our occupiers throughout the months, including outdoor bootcamp, Wednesday walking sessions, family-friendly films at our Movie Club, and lunchtime BBQs – just a handful of reasons why Birchwood Park is the place to be!
