Over 160 companies are already based within Birchwood Park creating a diverse cluster of science and engineering businesses, the new Enterprise Zone will help create more opportunities for collaboration and synergies across these businesses and their supply chains.

Widely acknowledged as the UK’s hub for the nuclear services sector Birchwood Park is home to companies including: Amec Foster Wheeler, Arcadis, NNL, Nuvia, and Rolls-Royce. The Enterprise Zone will be a great opportunity for companies within this sector to further strengthen partnerships and supplier links.

The Enterprise Zone has been identified by the Government as an Economic Development Area. Businesses within it will benefit from a range of incentives, such as simplified planning and business rates relief.

By locating your business within in the Birchwood Enterprise Zone you can save up to £275,000 over 5 years in Business Rates relief.

The Cheshire Science Corridor Enterprise Zone

The Cheshire Science Corridor has been awarded Enterprise Zone status. This is an exciting opportunity that has the potential to attract in the order of 20,000 jobs and 500 businesses to Cheshire and Warrington through a significantly enhanced profile; attractive business incentives and the ability to retain and reinvest new business rate revenue.

The Cheshire Science Corridor is a crescent that crosses the northern part of the Cheshire & Warrington sub-region linking together nationally and internationally significant research facilities and existing businesses.
