Celebrating 35 Years of Twinfix: Innovation, Family & Forward Momentum
News 25 November 2025
This year, we’re incredibly proud to celebrate 35 years of Twinfix — three and a half decades of innovation, craftsmanship, and teamwork.
Since our beginnings in 1990, we’ve grown from a small family business into one of the UK’s leading manufacturers and installers of canopies, roof glazing, and covered walkways. Through every project, partnership, and product innovation, our mission has stayed the same: to design and deliver safe, durable, and beautiful glazed structures that stand the test of time.
From Humble Beginnings to Industry Leaders
When Graham and Elaine Kench founded Twinfix in 1990, their vision was simple — to create reliable glazing systems for polycarbonate roofing. Working from modest premises in Warrington, their small team quickly gained a reputation for quality, technical know-how, and customer care.
Today, that same family spirit continues under the leadership of Vicky Evans, Sarah Kench, Dan Smith and Paul Greenfield who have helped steer Twinfix into new markets and exciting innovations while keeping those original values firmly at the heart of the company.
“Reaching 35 years is an incredible milestone — it’s a celebration of our team, our customers, and the shared belief that innovation and integrity go hand in hand,” says Vicky Evans, Managing Director at Twinfix.
“From our very first glazing bars to our latest Solar-Link-Panel developments, we’ve always been about solving real-world challenges with clever design and genuine care.”
Innovation at the Core Over the years, Twinfix has introduced several industry-first solutions that have set new standards in safety and design. Among our most notable innovations:
The Multi-Link-Panel Non-Fragile System – A rapid-fit, non-fragile rooflight system designed and manufactured in-house, used extensively in a range of sectors including rail, education, and commercial.
Georgian Wired Polycarbonate – Developed to replicate the classic appearance of wired glass while offering the impact resistance and lightweight properties of modern materials.
Solar-Link-Panel – Our newest addition, integrating sustainable solar technology into roof glazing — a step toward a more energy-efficient future.
Alu -Link- Panel – An adaption from our Multi-Link-Panel, a solid aluminium roof, with a striking visual effect
“Innovation has always been part of our DNA,” explains Paul Greenfield, Director of Operations.
“Our clients rely on us to deliver products that not only meet regulations but exceed expectations in performance and longevity.”
Key Projects That Define Twinfix
Our journey has been built through partnerships and projects that have shaped communities and improved everyday spaces. Some standout highlights include:
Network Rail Heritage Stations – Installation of our Georgian Wired, obscure and clear Polycarbonate panels at several heritage stations, preserving traditional aesthetics while improving safety and longevity.
Stirling Railway Station Canopy Refurbishment – A complex project where our Multi-Link-Panel system provided a lightweight, non-fragile solution that complemented the station’s historic architecture.
A key and historical station in Sirling Waterloo Station – A station in progress, our Multi-Link-Panel system glazed with obscure polycarbonate. This will be a wonderful project when complete.
School Canopies Nationwide – From outdoor classrooms to playground shelters, our bespoke canopies have enhanced learning environments in hundreds of schools across the UK.
Retail and Commercial Developments – Including covered walkways and atriums for shopping centres and business parks, providing both functionality and visual appeal.
“Seeing our canopies in places where people learn, travel, and connect — that’s what makes us proud,” says Sarah Kench, Managing Director. “Every project is a reflection of the skill and dedication of our incredible team.”
