Prime Minister speaks of new jobs in Warrington during ‘golden age of nuclear’

This week in Prime Minister’s Questions, Birchwood Park was highlighted by Warrington North MP Charlotte Nichols as a “globally leading centre of nuclear innovation,” with thousands of local jobs supported by the industry.

In response, the Prime Minister confirmed the government’s commitment to a “golden age of nuclear”, securing home-grown energy, lowering bills, and creating high-paid, high-skilled jobs across the UK, including right here in Birchwood.

With the nuclear industry already supporting over 29,000 jobs in the North West, and Birchwood Park home to leaders like the United Kingdom National Nuclear Laboratory, Amentum, NUVIA, Rolls-Royce SMR and more, this is a proud moment of recognition for our community’s role in building the UK’s clean energy future.
