Local Home Builder Celebrates Success in Pride in the Job Awards

News 20 July 2026

Miller Homes’ Carl Harrison has been recognised for his commitment to excellence after receiving a Quality Award in the 2026 NHBC Pride in the Job Awards. The awards, given by the National House Building Council (NHBC), are the UK house-building industry’s most prestigious honours and are dedicated to recognising and rewarding outstanding site managers.

Carl Harrison, Site Manager at Miller Homes’ Church View development in Coppull, was named one of the North West’s regional winners of the Quality Award at the NHBC Pride in the Job Awards last week. The latest accolade adds to an impressive track record for Carl, who has now received five NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Awards (2010, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2026), as well as two Seal of Excellence Awards (2019 and 2020), recognising his consistent commitment to delivering exceptional build quality.

Carl is responsible for overseeing the construction of Church View, an exceptional new home development in Coppull.  The development features an attractive collection of three and four-bedroom detached and semi-detached homes all set within a welcoming semi-rural community that combines the appeal of countryside living with excellent local convenience. The new homes, three miles from Chorley, are within easy walking distance of Coppull’s shops and everyday amenities, while a primary school and nursery are located nearby.

Site managers are judged on several criteria including consistency of high standards, leadership, technical expertise, interpretation, health and safety and ‘the X factor’ – something special which sets the site manager apart.

Andy Heaton, Production Director at Miller Homes in the North West, said: “We are extremely proud of all our site managers and are delighted that Carl has been recognised in this way.  The Pride in the Job Awards are highly respected within the industry and this acknowledgement shows our commitment to ensuring our homes are built safely and to the highest standard.  This is a tremendous accolade for Carl as well as for the wider business.”

Carl commented: “The NHBC awards are like our version of the Oscars and it is a real honour to have been recognised in this way. Everyone at Miller Homes works hard to deliver safe and high quality workmanship throughout the build and are proud of the homes we create.”

Later on this year the winners of a Quality Award are given the opportunity to compete for a more coveted NHBC Seal of Excellence Award.

Church View is now 80% sold, with only a few homes remaining. For more information or to arrange a visit, contact the sales team or visit the sales centre, open Thursday to Monday, 10:30am–5:30pm.
