Each member of Alive & Well will receive a personalised fitness programme to be undertaken in the fitness area.
Exercise programmes can be tailored by our Personal Trainers – just speak to us and we can help design an individual training programme suited to you.
CARDIOVASCULAR AREA
Cardiovascular exercise works the body’s heart and lungs to enable calorie burn either for weight loss or improved health and fitness levels. Contained within our cardiovascular area, you will find treadmills, cross trainers, steppers, rowers, recumbent bikes and arm bikes.
RESISTANCE AREA
It is a scientifically proven fact that resistance training helps the body to burn more calories, and our Resistance Area provides the perfect combination of the latest weight machines, free weights and pulley-weight systems to help you achieve your goals.
SPINNING AREA
It is a scientifically proven fact that resistance training helps the body to burn more calories, and our Resistance Area provides the perfect combination of the latest weight machines, free weights and pulley-weight systems to help you achieve your goals.
Sessions are booked directly with Reception at Alive & Well.
All Alive and Well memberships include free access to the full range of fitness classes.
Kettlebells – This class will give fast results for strength, endurance and muscle toning using dynamic, total body movements.
Legs Bums and Tums – The clue is in the name, a 30 minute ladies only masterclass which focusses on problem areas, such as legs, bums and tums.
Mobilty – A class to help you to develop the ability to move more freely in different ranges of movements.
Raise the Bar – High -intensity full body workout.
Spin – A 30 minute cycle workout in the gym. Get ready for the ride of your life.
Tabata – A fast paced, fun, fat burning class. 30 minutes of interval workouts made up of 20 second rounds at maximum intensity followed by 10 seconds rest.
Yoga – A wonderful workout for the mind and body.
Sports rehabilitation is a health care role that specialises in musculoskeletal management, exercise rehabilitation and fitness. We deal with a wide range of injuries from sports injuries to postural problems to arthritis. An initial consultation takes place in which we discuss your problem or pains, as well as carrying out a functional assessment to determined what the diagnosis and prognosis is. From there treatment can be prescribed and carried out as well as any exercises and advice to allow the benefits on treatment to continue.
In addition to the list above, we offer sports and deep tissue massage which are great for aches and pains as well as performance enabling and enhancing. We also do sports strapping, K taping, acupuncture, Pilates and postural assessments.
