labdesk take on the Helvellyn 9 challenge for Peace & Mind

Our occupier labdesk is no stranger to a tough challenge, but this September, Directors Mike Douglass and James Rooney are stepping things up in a huge way to support local mental health charity Peace & Mind UK.

They’ll be taking on the ‘labdesk helvellyn 9’, an endurance challenge involving nine ascents of Mount Helvellyn in the Lake District. That’s over 8,847 metres of climbing, more than 100km of distance, and all within just 48 hours.

Mike and James are no strangers to pushing limits. Last year they took on a 30-mile trek carrying 30kg, but this time they’re going even further in support of Peace & Mind and the work the charity does to educate and support young people, families, and the wider community around mental health.

“Esther and the Peace and Mind team do an awesome job at educating the community, youths and children on mental health,” said Mike. “Last year we walked 30 miles with 30KG, so this year we had to go big. Any support you can offer means a massive amount.”
